Chapter 1
Launch Community & Future UGC
These Guidelines apply to Mosey community-facing features. Mosey does not provide, and does not intend to provide, user-generated or user-to-user content features such as profile photographs, biographies, free-text posts, comments, media uploads, public feeds or direct/private messages. Community functionality is intentionally limited to structured features such as usernames, leaderboards, challenges and referrals.
1. Scope at launch
Mosey may include community-facing functionality such as usernames, leaderboard positions, challenge participation and referral features.
Mosey does not allow members to publish profile photographs, biographies, free-text posts or comments, photographs, videos, audio, public feeds or direct/private messages for other members to encounter.
This distinction matters because the safety and moderation requirements for a service can change materially when users are able to generate, upload or share content that other users can encounter.
Back to top ↑2. Basic community conduct
Members must use usernames, leaderboard participation, challenges, referrals and any other community-facing feature lawfully and respectfully.
Do not use a username, account identity or other available field to threaten, harass, impersonate, defraud, exploit or deliberately target another person.
Do not attempt to use limited account fields as a workaround for functionality that Mosey has not provided, including attempts to publish prohibited links, contact details or abusive messages through usernames or similar fields.
Back to top ↑3. Prohibited conduct
The following is prohibited where it can be expressed or carried out through a Mosey feature:
- credible threats, harassment, stalking or targeted abuse
- fraud, scams, impersonation or deceptive account identities
- sexual exploitation or abuse, including any child sexual exploitation or abuse material or conduct
- content or conduct that facilitates serious violence, terrorism or other unlawful activity
- hate directed at a person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic where prohibited by applicable law or these Guidelines
- doxxing, publication of another person’s private information or attempts to obtain it improperly
- malware, phishing or attempts to compromise another member or Mosey
- using community features to facilitate prohibited reward fraud, account trading, referral abuse or Fair Play violations
4. Usernames and leaderboards
Usernames displayed to other members should not contain abusive, threatening, sexually explicit, discriminatory or deceptive material, impersonate another person or organisation, or expose another person’s private information.
Mosey may require a username to be changed, remove it from public display or restrict leaderboard/community visibility where reasonably necessary to enforce these Guidelines, protect users or comply with law.
Leaderboard ranking and challenge participation are also subject to the Fair Play & Anti-Cheat Policy. Community enforcement and reward-integrity enforcement may overlap, but removal of legitimately redeemable value remains subject to the protections in the Terms, Rewards Terms and Fair Play Policy.
Back to top ↑5. Reporting and complaints
For the launch feature set, members can report a community-safety concern to [email protected]. Reports should identify the username/account or feature involved and describe the concern.
Mosey will not claim that an in-app reporting tool exists until such a tool is actually available in the released app.
If future user-to-user content features are introduced, Mosey will assess whether an easy-to-access in-service reporting and complaints mechanism is required and implement the necessary mechanism before or when those features launch.
Back to top ↑6. Enforcement
Depending on seriousness, context, repetition and risk, Mosey may warn a member, require a username change, remove or restrict community visibility, temporarily restrict a feature, suspend an account or permanently terminate an account where justified.
Enforcement will be proportionate. A community violation does not automatically justify removal of legitimately earned Acorns. Reward adjustments or forfeiture must follow the Terms, Rewards Terms and Fair Play & Anti-Cheat Policy and applicable law.
Where a material decision is based on suspected fraud or abuse and could permanently terminate an account or forfeit legitimately redeemable value, the human-review and appeal protections in the Fair Play Policy apply.
Back to top ↑7. Appeals
Members may challenge material community enforcement by contacting [email protected] and explaining why they believe the decision was incorrect or disproportionate.
Where an appeal succeeds, Mosey will restore the appropriate account/community status and any eligible balance or reward status affected by an incorrect linked enforcement decision where technically possible.
Back to top ↑8. Physical safety
Mosey encourages activity, but members remain responsible for choosing activity appropriate to their circumstances and surroundings.
Do not use the app in a way that distracts you around roads, traffic, machinery or other hazards. Pay attention to your surroundings, use appropriate visibility and precautions when walking or running in low light, and do not take unnecessary risks merely to reach a step, challenge or reward target.
If you are unsure whether a significant change in physical activity is appropriate for you, consider seeking appropriate professional advice before making that change.
Back to top ↑9. No user-generated-content features
Mosey is intentionally designed without member photos, biographies, comments, posts, media uploads, public feeds, direct messages or comparable user-to-user content functionality. These features are not required for the Mosey service.
If Mosey’s product design were ever changed contrary to this stated position, the relevant feature must not launch until a fresh legal and safety assessment has been completed, including any Online Safety Act obligations applicable at that time.
The absence of user-to-user content is a deliberate product and safety design decision and should be preserved when new community functionality is designed.
Structured community features should continue to minimise free-form content and unnecessary personal information.
Back to top ↑10. Content licence if UGC is introduced
The current launch feature set does not require a broad licence for member photos/posts that are not available for upload.
If Mosey introduces user-generated content, any licence will be stated consistently in the Terms and these Guidelines before the feature launches. Mosey will not rely on conflicting wording that says content may be used only “within the platform” in one document but for external promotion in another.
Use of member content in external marketing will require an appropriate, clearly disclosed legal basis and permission arrangement rather than being assumed from ordinary participation.
Back to top ↑11. Changes and review
These Guidelines will be reviewed before material new community or user-generated-content functionality launches and at least annually.
Last reviewed: 25 August 2026. Next scheduled review: no later than 25 August 2027.
If the production app contains community functionality not accurately described here, this document must be updated before public launch of that functionality.
